Contraindicated in hyperthyroidism and related cardiac problems. Contraindicated in patients taking thyroid replacement therapy (thyroxine). Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation. Bladderwrack may interact with hyperthyroid medication. Discontinue 7 days prior to general anaesthesia.
