This can provide a soothing effect that has been found to be of particular use in inflammatory conditions of the digestive system. The mucilage in Marshmallow has also been found to have a soothing effect in the respiratory tract.  Benefits ?Marshmallow has soothing and demulcent properties due to its mucilage content.
